On 2 February 2022, an educational site tour and presentation took place at the “Grand Hyatt Extension” construction site, as part of the initiatives of the local Young Leaders Group.

The tour was hosted and presented by Andreas Kapsalis, Managing Director, Hines Greece in cooperation with Anastasia Hassiotis, Chair of ULI Greece & Cyprus Young Leaders Group and Associate, Hines Greece. Twenty (limited tour) professionals attended the tour, the majority of which were ULI members, representing various disciplines of the Greek real estate market.

The complexity of converting a cinema building to an 8-story hotel, along with the creativity needed to be able to connect on every floor the new building to the existing hotel, are what became the center of discussion during the tour and kept all our members and guests interested in hearing the construction plan and strategy. Everyone present was very impressed about the progress of the works and excited about what will soon become the 2^nd largest hotel in Athens. The tour ended on the rooftop of the Grand Hyatt overlooking the Acropolis.

After the tour, our Young Leaders group had their first meeting for 2022, where they, set in-person, their goals for the year, and shared their expectations and ideas for future events and actions. New YL members also had the opportunity to meet the older YL members and share their backgrounds.

Anastasia Hassiotis, Chair of the local YLG gave an outlook of the past actions, events and presented the proposal that was submitted to ULI to host the “ULI Europe Young Leaders Study tour” in Athens this upcoming autumn. All Young Leaders members shared very insightful ideas.
